Specialised Training Facilities

In order to create realistic working environments for students, several vocational courses are provided with specialist units that all students can benefit from. These include:

Hairfax/Facefax

The College's commercial hairdressing and beauty salons are located on the Afan campus. They are open to all College students and members of the public and they offer a wide range of hair and beauty treatments with free consultations. There is also up to 20% discount for students and staff on all processes.

Trainee Garden Centre

Situated in 11 acres of mixed woodland and ornamental gardens around Twyn yr Hydd House, in Margam Country Park, is a training centre for horticulture students. There is also a commercial nursery, selling a large range of products based at Twyn yr Hydd and the Neath campus.

Bakery Shop

Selling bread, cakes and pastries that are prepared and freshly baked on the Neath campus by bakery students.

Sports Facilities

The College has extensive sports facilities which include the indoor facilities at the Llandarcy Academy of Sport campus, which includes a multi-purpose indoor training facility, sport-testing laboratory, physio room, state-of-the-art fitness suite and computer room. There are also facilities available at the Neath campus, which include pitch/courts for a variety of team games, as well as, an all weather pitch.

Engineering and Construction Workshops

The College has purpose-built workshops where students can work on modern plant equipment.

Motor Vehicle Workshops

Students have the opportunity to work on vehicles to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Blasus Restaurant

Students prepare and serve meals to a very high standard. The College is open to the public, serving lunches and evening meals.

Recording Studio/Record Label

Students and local/college bands rehearse and record music.
